Improving your photogallery's ranking
This is a very simple and good method to pump up your ranking in Google image search. Google image search crawls your website and looks for tags attached to your images (title, alt). They used to search on the alt attribute but they changed that and are now more focussed on the title attribute.

BUT, have you ever taken a closer look at your PHP-Fusion tags? Have you ever noticed that the titles of your images are locale files with "click to enlarge", "open album" and stuff like that? Well, Google will not crawl those images as the tags don't describe the actual photo/image.

If you alter your code like displayed below, your ranking will be improved 100%.



Improving your photogallery's ranking: (based on v6.01.xx)

Open photogallery.php and search for line 62:

echo "<img src='".($photo_thumb ? $photo_thumb : $photo_file)."' alt='".$data['photo_filename']."' title='".$locale['453']."' border='0'></a>\n</div>\n";

replace with:

echo "<img src='".($photo_thumb ? $photo_thumb : $photo_file)."' alt='".$data['album_title']."' title='".$data['album_title']."' border='0'></a>\n</div>\n";

Search for line 128:

echo "<img src='".PHOTODIR.$data['photo_thumb1']."' alt='".$data['photo_thumb1']."' title='".$locale['431']."' border='0'>";

replace with:

echo "<img src='".PHOTODIR.$data['photo_thumb1']."' alt='".$data['album_title']."' title='".$data['album_title']."' border='0'>";

Search for line 164:

echo "<img src='".PHOTOS.$data['album_thumb']."' alt='".$data['album_thumb']."' title='".$locale['401']."' border='0'>";

Replace with:

echo "<img src='".PHOTOS.$data['album_thumb']."' alt='".$data['album_title']."' title='".$ldata['album_title']."' border='0'>";

Save and close photogallery.php and reupload it so it replaces your existing photogallery.php. Now, if you hover over your images you will see the name of the gallery. Also, the alternative text (if the image can't be loaded) will show the album title.

You can also use the photo filename if you wish, simply replace .$data['album_title']. with .$data['photo_filename']. .

I changed it back to the old panel as Elyn isn't available at the moment to fix the issue.

Much better now. The page is not wide. I see the 2 arrows have been removed in the Welcome center panel.

@Diemux, I posted the info for the wide screen in the forum. Still way too wide today on the main page only. Seems like a center panel problem. Maybe the two arrows at the top?
